Chapter 5: Breaking the Curse with One's Own Body
Huang San felt a surge of joy as he saw the malevolent spirit fall into the trap, and he leaped out of the Tai Chi Bagua formation. Once the malevolent spirit entered the formation and saw that Huang San had already escaped, it quickly pursued him. However, every time the malevolent spirit stepped onto the edge of the formation, it was blocked by the formation's defenses. The malevolent spirit repeatedly attacked the formation, but no matter how fiercely it struck, it could not break free from the confines of the formation
To break the evil spirits with one's own body, as the name suggests, this requires the practitioner to use their masculine energy to exhaust the阴煞's阴气. To perform this method, the practitioner must first set up a Seven Stars Burning Heaven Formation, which requires seven fierce yellow talismans arranged on the ground to form the image of the seven stars. Then, seven copper coins are used to stabilize these seven points. Within the Seven Stars Formation, a magical tool is needed to protect the formation; Huang San uses the Bagua mirror to stabilize the center of the formation.
The story of Huang San ends here, while outside the window, thunder and lightning continue. Lin Tian later asked, "What about the body of the old uncle?"
Huang San realized that the formation was effective against the Yin Sha and could trap it for half a stick of incense's duration. He then thought of how to break this Yin Sha. Of course, if Huang San were to escape right now, he would certainly be able to flee the graveyard. However, as a disciple of the Three Pure Ones, it would be against his conscience to ignore the Yin Sha and allow it to create chaos in the world.
Huang San gritted his teeth, biting a small piece from his index finger with his teeth, and then drew a fierce palm symbol on his right palm. He struck fiercely at the head of the Yin Sha, and the Yin Sha was sent flying. It slid down to the corner of the wall. Seizing the opportunity, Huang San quickly ran into the formation. Once he entered the Tai Chi Bagua formation, he let out a sigh of relief, as it had been too perilous; he had almost fallen into the hands of the Yin Sha.
Huang San pondered for a moment, took out several talismans, and threw them at the Yin Sha. One by one, the talismans landed on the body of the Yin Sha. The Yin Sha, being of the Yin nature, was immediately opposed to the talismans, which were of the fierce Yang nature, and they ignited instantly. The Yin Sha let out a wail, moved slightly, but still ignored Huang San. Angered, Huang San took out a copper coin sword and hurled it at the Yin Sha. With a screech, the copper coin sword pierced into the body of the Yin Sha. The Yin Sha cried out again, moved slightly, but still paid no attention to Huang San. Enraged, Huang San threw the copper coin sword once more. With another screech, the sword embedded itself deeper into the Yin Sha's body. The Yin Sha screamed again, but this time it was evidently more severely injured. The Yin Sha glared at Huang San with fury and charged at him in anger.
Since that night, Lin Tian has been harboring this thought until now. However, fate played a trick on him when he accidentally discovered an old book in my grandmother's box. The title of this book is: "Transmission of the Three Pure Ones' Dao" and it is signed by: Daoist Tianyi
Lin Tian tapped his fingers curiously and asked, "Grandma, what is the matter with the Tomb Robber? And does Huang San feel pain every time he is struck by lightning?"
Grandma smiled and said, "Silly child, of course it hurts, but this is your uncle's choice. If someone rescues your uncle in the future, then he won't hurt anymore. And as for the tomb raiders! Even if I tell you, you won't understand; you'll know when you grow up."
Huang San desperately ran towards the formation, but fate was not on his side. Just as Huang San turned around, the malevolent spirit lunged at him, lifting him off the ground with both hands. Huang San struggled with all his might, but the spirit was immensely strong. In mid-air, Huang San was violently thrown against the wall. With a thud, he spat out a mouthful of fresh blood. The only way now was to lure this malevolent spirit into the formation. It seemed as if the spirit was aware of Huang San's intentions, always missing the mark by just a little, preventing it from being drawn into the Tai Chi Bagua formation.
On that evening, an old Taoist with a melancholic expression sat upright on the bed, while a middle-aged man in a Taoist robe knelt before him. The old Taoist, sitting on the bed, spoke to the middle-aged man kneeling on the ground: "Huang San, the reason I have you kneel on the ground today is that my time is running short. I wish to reveal a heavenly secret to you, but I fear that after I disclose this secret, my life will also come to an end. Therefore, I want you to kneel and send me off on my journey to the West, so that you may be spared any feelings of guilt."
Lin Tian opened the tattered scroll, and on the first page it read: "Greetings, fated one. I am the Daoist of Tianyi, a disciple of the Three Pure Ones. This manual is written by me, containing the orthodox Daoist arts of the Three Pure Ones. I hope that upon receiving this book, you will study it diligently, to eliminate the grievances of the world, to guide the souls of the departed, and to promote the teachings of our Three Pure Daoist lineage."
Lin Tian looked at these characters and smiled helplessly. "Fated person," he realized that the fated person of this book was indeed a relative of me, Huang San. Lin Tian turned to the second page, and there were indeed some densely packed spells that I could not understand, along with some illustrations. After confirming that this was a book written by Huang San, Lin Tian quietly hid the book away.
Lin Tianyan turned his eyes and said earnestly: "Grandma, I will definitely rescue Uncle Lao in the future, so that he will no longer suffer from the punishment of thunder"
Huang San fixed his gaze intently on the incense around him, while the malevolent spirit repeatedly surged outward. Clearly, this spirit had little interest in the formation before him, but was coveting Huang San not far away, along with the *tu* *shu*. As Huang San noticed that the incense was about to burn out, he suddenly recalled the scene of his master's final instructions to him.
After Huang San finished speaking, he knelt down and heavily knocked his head several times on the ground. With a cold gaze, he looked towards the Yin Sha that was running chaotically in the formation
Lin Tian's grandmother sighed helplessly and patted Lin Tian's petite head, saying, "Hehe, then you must study hard and earn a lot of money."
After Huang San completed the formation, a cracking sound was heard as the peach wood sword at the center of the Eight Trigrams formation shattered into two pieces. The yellow talismans on the ground turned to ashes, and the malevolent spirit let out a furious roar as it lunged at Huang San. Huang San held his breath, standing within the Burning Heaven formation, reciting the Brahma mantra. The malevolent spirit swiftly pounced on Huang San, knocking him to the ground, its long fangs sinking into his neck. Huang San let out a muffled groan of pain and activated the Burning Heaven formation.
The malevolent spirit rolled on the ground for a while before losing all vitality, ultimately becoming a lifeless corpse. After the white smoke dissipated, the corpse rapidly withered away, turning into a pile of ashes scattered on the ground
After the old Taoist finished speaking, he glanced at the middle-aged Taoist kneeling on the ground. He noticed that the middle-aged Taoist was gently sobbing.
Huang San desperately recalled the techniques imparted to him by his master, as well as the methods to dispel the corpse evil. However, no matter how hard he tried, he could not come up with a solution. The incense had already burned for nearly three-quarters of its length, and if he could not figure out a way to break this malevolent spirit, he would find it impossible to escape. After such a prolonged battle with the malevolent spirit, he had nearly exhausted the talismans he carried, and his physical strength was also nearly depleted. Even if he were not bitten to death by the malevolent spirit, he would be worn out to the point of death by it.
Although Lin Tian possessed this book from www.hetushu.com, he had not yet reached the level of being able to comprehend it without guidance. Therefore, after acquiring the book, Lin Tian sought out a local fortune teller to be his master. However, he did not allow the fortune teller to see the book. Interestingly, this fortune teller had a disciple who was also a person with innate insight
After the Taoist finished speaking, he handed a tattered ancient scroll to the middle-aged Taoist who was kneeling on the ground, and then he closed his eyes as if he were entering a state of meditation. However, the middle-aged Taoist, who was kneeling on the ground, suddenly burst into tears, for the old Taoist who had been sitting calmly on the bed had already passed away peacefully.
Lin Tian's grandmother sighed and said: "Still in that tomb, this is also the reason why our family moved from the distant south to near the Ming Dynasty royal tombs in Beijing. It's just that our family has no money; if we had money, we could hire a tomb raider to retrieve your uncle's remains from the tomb. Now, I can only come here during the Qingming and Chongyang festivals to pay my respects, burning some offerings for your uncle from a distance"
After rushing into the formation, Huang San was temporarily safe; as long as that Yin Sha entered this formation, it could be trapped for the duration of a stick of incense. The Yin Sha, seeing Huang San resting within the formation, surprisingly ceased its attacks and instead stared at Huang San. Clearly, after absorbing a month's worth of worldly resentment, the Yin Sha had gained a semblance of consciousness. Now, the problem Huang San faced was how to provoke this Yin Sha and lure it inside. Huang San was extremely anxious, as the incense had already been lit and nearly a quarter of it had burned down. If the Yin Sha did not enter soon, the Taiji Bagua formation would collapse.
Huang San reminisced as a tear fell from the corner of his eye and dropped to the ground. Suddenly, Huang San knelt down and bowed three times towards the south. He murmured: "Master, your disciple has not been filial in promoting the teachings of the Three Purities, and thus must sacrifice himself to break the curse. The teachings have not been passed on to others, but your disciple has recorded the techniques you imparted in a book and placed it in the Daoist temple. I hope that in heaven, you will bless a destined person to inherit the teachings and legacy of the Dao." The teachings have not been passed on to others, but your disciple has recorded the techniques you imparted in a book and placed it in the Daoist temple. I hope that in heaven, you will bless a destined person to inherit the teachings and legacy of the Dao.
As soon as the Burning Heaven Formation was activated, a beam of white light surged from Huang San and entered the body of the malevolent corpse. The malevolent spirit was gnawing at Huang San's corpse, with droplets of fresh blood splattering against the wall. However, after the white light penetrated the malevolent corpse, it ceased its gnawing and began to roll on the ground, howling in agony. Then, wisps of white smoke started to rise from the malevolent corpse, growing larger and larger.
The old Taoist priest sighed softly, shook his head, and said: "You are a person born with keen insight, but your fate is marked by a calamity. If you can overcome this calamity, you may extend your life by a hundred years; if not, you will surely perish. When I calculated your calamity, I found that it involves the 'corpse evil.' However, I have drawn three divinations for you, all indicating the same outcome regarding this calamity. You must believe that one can defy fate; destiny is in one's own hands. Therefore, I will teach you the final move, which you must never use unless absolutely necessary. The consequence of this move is that it will cost you your life. As practitioners of the Tao, we have long set aside our lives; sacrificing our lives is one thing, but the worst part of this move is that it cannot be reincarnated. After death, wherever you are buried, you will suffer divine punishment during rainy or thunderous weather. This move is the most lethal technique within our Three Purities Taoism, and it has been regarded as a secret transmission by our ancestors throughout the generations. Thus, today I will impart this technique to you: the Heavenly Burning Formation. In the future, if you encounter this calamity and it is too overwhelming, posing great danger, then you may use this technique to eliminate harm for the people."
